My Story
My name is Crystal Gay
I LOVE to organize!
I was well-organized at home, school and at work. Then... I got married and got comfortable. Theeeen... we had kids and I got BUSY!
I was raised in a smaller south Georgia town with a fairly large family. I grew up keeping everything. Because it was "Great Grandma's quilt she made for Aunt Laurie when she married." Or because "It's an antique!" Or, my mama's favorite "Just buy it, you'll find a place for it."
By the time I was in my 40s, my house was filled with antiques and heirlooms from Great-Grandmas, Memas, Nannies and my Mom. I had also collected random furniture in my garage because my siblings were moving here and there and I kept what they wanted for later...to be nice and helpful. Nothing wrong with that, right?
Well, I had EVERYBODY'S stuff. I was drowning in it!
With life going full speed ahead, I began feeling a bit "blah". I was overwhelmed. I did not have joy when I was at home.
In an attempt to clear my mind and calm my rising anxiety I started meditating.
I began listening to Podcasts in my car, in the shower, even going to sleep at bedtime. Somehow, I landed on decluttering and life coaching sites. There I learned what would change my life... clutter in your home = clutter in your mind. So, one day I decided to sit on my kitchen floor and declutter/organize the dreaded TUPPERWARE DRAWER!
That did it. That was it. I was hooked. It sounds highly suspicious, but this one simple action gave me a sense of calm. It felt good! It looked good! And I haven't stopped.
I feel calm, alive, joy, accomplishment and peace. Decluttering and organizing my home has changed my life and it feels GOOD. That's why I want to show how this CAN happen for you as well.
